This renovation for a family of 4 in Sandringham was exciting from the beginning with clients who made the entire design and build a dream.

External treatments included white rendered bricks in stacked format with glass panels as an atrium connecting the old to the new. Aluminium timber look battens in a curved facadal treatment soften the white exterior.

Full height corner cavity sliding doors incorporated in the living space open the entire area to a private deck.

Skylights a plenty allow natural light a plenty. The floating steel staircase is a feature from every angle.

Height and overlooking are controlled by neighbourhood character and ResCode. We use window placement, screening and setbacks to meet privacy requirements while retaining light/views.

Can I build to the boundary for a rear addition?

Sometimes. It depends on setbacks, walls-on-boundary rules and neighbours’ windows. We model options that satisfy amenity and overshadowing controls.
