Starting its days as a small timber weatherboard home accommodating a family of 4, this gem needed some grounding and was an architectural design dream.
The client was incredibly easy to work with and really just wanted to use local stone cladding on their renovation, so the brief was formed pretty quickly.
A new master bedroom, sitting room with ensuite and dressing room was created on the first floor, maximising the stunning views out to the horses dressage arena and the rolling hills.
The garage below not only accommodated cars but a kind of stage area where bifold doors open to allow the children to put on their own productions and performances for mum and dad.
Round windows form views from the ensuite bath and a seated daybed at the top of the stairwell. When you have the gorgeous land around you in Melbourne's outer hills, you need to maximise its presence and allow it to permeate throughout the built environment.
